What is the da Vinci surgery system?

The da Vinci is a minimally invasive surgical system that allows your provider to perform procedures like hysterectomy and fibroid removal with the help of highly advanced robotics.

During surgery with the da Vinci system, your provider is always completely in control of all movements and can see the surgical area (the interior of your body) in 3-D and high definition on a nearby monitor. Your doctor performs the surgery using specialized instruments that can bend and rotate with a far greater range of motion than the human hand.

Instruments are carefully guided via a special console and the da Vinci system translates your provider’s movements at the console in real-time. Your doctor inserts the surgical equipment and the camera for viewing through just one or a few small incisions.
